Premise
"Robbie Rotten pretends to be the Mayor's favorite rock and roll singer, Johnny B. Badd, so he can convince the kids in town to be lazy, and demand that Sportacus leave LazyTown. The Mayor, who's excited to finally meet his idol, decides to give "Johnny" a trophy after he performs a rock concert for LazyTown. Robbie must somehow grab the trophy and get rid of Sportacus before his cover is blown."
Robbie: Three minutes. There won't be any concert. Uh. Ah. (trips over rubber duck) Come on, ducky. Let's fix our hair.
Robbie: Yeah, now to put my rotten plan in effect. Get the trophy and get rid of Sportacus forever. (echoes)
Robbie: (as Johnny B.) Do you people still think I'm cool? Will they do whatever I tell them to do?
Milford: Oh, Johnny. If you said "bark like a dog," they'd bark like a dog.
Robbie: So, Johnny B. Bad is coming to LazyTown and everybody will listen to him and do what he says. That's horrible! Mwa-ha-ha! No, wait, stop the music. It's disguise time.
Trivia
This episode was the first of four second-season episodes aired the week of September 25, 2006. Shown Monday-Thursday, this special batch of new episodes was coordinated with Nick Jr.'s second "Worldwide Day of Play." This special event, established in 2005, took place in 2006 on Saturday, September 30. From 12-3 P.M. eastern time, Nick Jr. simply stopped broadcasting and encouraged children to go out and play. Part of an overall "Let's Just Play" campaign, this special event includes nationwide activities and also coordinates with Nick Jr.'s "Go Healthy" Challenge campaign.
This is the first time to feature Trixie, Stingy & Bessie's updated Puppets designs with moving eyebrows. which is similar to Ziggy, who also has moving eyebrows.
Johnny B. Badd appears in person in the subsequent episode "The Last SportsCandy".
A rock remix of the "Bing Bang" song is featured at the end of this episode.

Allusions
The episode title, "Rockin' Robbie," references the classic tune "Rockin' Robin." This tune from the 50s was performed by Bobby Day and later by Michael Jackson.
In this episode, Mayor Meanswell invites his favorite rock star, Johnny B. Bad to LazyTown, but the supervillain Robbie Rotten hijacks the call and dresses up as Johnny B. This references "Johnny B. Good," who was never an actual singer, but was the name of a song about a fictional singer by this name. This popular rock tune was originally performed and written by Chuck Berry and performed by the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "The King", Elvis Presley.
Robbie Rotten's disguise as Johnny B. Bad is reference and a similar look/appearance of Elvis Presley.
